Roadmap
The phases are set by work, not by fixed dates.
Phase 1: foundations (now)
- Highlights of the Archaeological Museum of Sparta.
- A verified starter set from museums abroad.
- Provenance standard, city plan and building pages.
Phase 2: systematic sweep
- Search open collection APIs (Met, Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland, Europeana) for Laconian objects.
- Check each record by hand and add it through the data files.
- Approach museums without open data.
Phase 3: reconstructions
- Drawn and 3D reconstructions of the main buildings, each labelled by evidence level.
Ongoing
- Partnerships with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Laconia, holding museums and scholars.
- Corrections welcomed from curators.
